Good Afternoon from FN66QE! There is a small number of operators here in the Fredericton area who are interested in the 23cm band. We are intending to do some experimenting here locally, just to get started and would invite others with gear to do the same. Are there other IRG members or "radio monitoring enthusiasts" that have gear for that band? I would love to hear from you!. We are just in the plan and test mode. More information will be available as we progress here. I live in the "crotch" of a valley, so for myself, hill topping will be a fact of life and may be more active in the "Hills on the Air" operations. 73! Wade Wall, VE1TAY

Hi Wade - a great experiment…
Hi Wade - a great experiment! I'd like to try it also. But my IC-9100 doesn't have the board installed. I'll snoop around and see if there's a surplus one out there somewhere.

I have a HT that allows 23cm…
I have a HT that allows 23cm but I can't say I've ever made a QSO on that band.

23cm Band Activity
Good afternoon, Rick. I have a TS790A and an IC-910H that are capable of 1.2G operation, but the optional modules are hard to find. If you have one, you keep it, it seems. "E-PAY" has them, but "Chinese manufacture" and at prices rivaling what the proper suppliers asked for when those were first produced. Thanks for your reply, and GL on finding a module for the 9100! 73, Wade

Good afternoon, Aaron, for your reply. What is the make and model of your handheld? I am going to use an IC-T81A for FM portable and testing. antennas are small for this band and you can get a lot of gain from a given boom length! I intend to use an FT-290Rll, 2m all mode as an exciter for my LG Labs transverter. My antennas are a loop yagi and an end mounted yagi of standard design. Both are portable friendly. Thank you, Aaron, 73! Wade
