July 2020 review and August (late summer/fall) outlook NB

In terms of temperature, July was warmer (+0.9 C) than the 30-year climate normal (1981-2010) for the province. Precipitation in July continued to be on the dry side with 85 % of the 30-year climate normal.  We have yet to see a month in 2020 with above normal precipitation and the last time this happened was December 2019.

Here's a fun animation from CoCoRaHS on how to measure snow depth. Some of it applies to those who participate in the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow system, but it's good information to anyone who wants to make accurate reports to the IRG Weather Net or CANWARN.
